Terms of Service

These terms govern access to the Unlock Retail platform. Unlock Retail is a B2B service provided to venue operators and their authorised users.

1. Service overview

Unlock Retail is a B2B software and hardware platform for venue operators. The dashboard, APIs and connected services (the “Platform”) are made available under a written customer agreement between Unlock Retail and the customer organisation.

2. Authorised users

Customer users must be authorised by their organisation to access the Platform. Each user is responsible for the security of their own credentials and must not share account access. Unlock Retail may suspend or remove accounts that do not appear to be in active, authorised use.

3. Acceptable use

  • Use the Platform only for lawful business purposes.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload or interfere with the Platform.
  • Do not misuse data accessed through the Platform or use it to identify individuals.
  • Do not introduce malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorised access to other organisations' data.

4. Email recipients and opt-in

Unlock Retail collects email addresses only through direct interactions with our platform. We do not buy, rent, scrape or import third-party email lists. Recipients of our emails fall into one of the following categories:

  • You submitted a demo or contact form on unlockretail.com and asked us to get in touch.
  • You were invited by a customer organisation to access the Unlock Retail dashboard.
  • You created an account, verified your email address, or requested a password reset.
  • You were added as an authorised billing or technical contact by an existing customer.
  • You explicitly opted in to receive our newsletter through the sign-up form on our website.

Transactional emails

By holding an Unlock Retail account, you agree that we may send transactional and account-related emails — for example account invitations, email verification, password resets, demo and contact form replies, security alerts, billing notices and service-related updates. These messages are part of providing the service and are not marketing.

Marketing and newsletter emails

Newsletter and marketing emails are sent only to recipients who have given explicit opt-in consent through a separate sign-up form. We record the date, source and consent text at the time of sign-up. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing immediately removes you from future marketing sends without affecting your dashboard account or transactional emails.

You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us via the contact page.

5. Customer data

Customers retain ownership of the data they provide to the Platform. Unlock Retail processes that data on the customer's behalf in line with our customer agreements and the Privacy Policy.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, upgrades or third-party outages may temporarily affect access. Service-level commitments, where offered, are detailed in the customer agreement.

7. Intellectual property

The Platform, including software, design, documentation and trademarks, is owned by Unlock Retail or its licensors. No rights are granted except those expressly set out in your customer agreement.

8. Confidentiality

Customer users must keep non-public Platform information confidential and use it only for the customer's internal business purposes.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The Platform is provided on an “as is” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unlock Retail excludes implied warranties and limits liability as set out in the customer agreement.

10. Termination

Unlock Retail may suspend or terminate access in the event of breach of these terms or the customer agreement. Customers may terminate access in line with the terms of their agreement.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to customer administrators in advance.
